My friend Andrea Miller has embraced SUP, and has become the SUP yoga guru (living across the street from the beach in Florida does not hurt). Miller and I were at our friend Futterman's birthday party, and had tried the day before this to paddle on the Hudson River where we were staying. But tide, current and wind meant I stood for about 0.25 brutal miles before she said, "I don't think this is a good idea." So, we opted for Plan B the next day: an Audubon wildlife refuge from the Catskill, NY marina.
