For more than two decades I have been lucky to be paid to write about offbeat people, places and things. I’ve explored country music hot spots and the market for Frank Lloyd Wright ephemera. A prolific freelance editor and writer, I have covered women’s health, pet-friendly travel, gardening, standup paddling, startup businesses and everything in between for publications ranging from Condé Nast Traveler to Fortune to Crain’s Chicago Business to Nashville Lifestyles to Rolling Stone Country. I author guidebooks under the Moon imprint.
A native of Boise, Idaho, I now live in Nashville, Tennessee, where I write about what makes Music City special. Also, I spend time in Chicago, Memphis, Chattanooga, The Mississippi Delta, Little Rock, and wherever else my assignments take me. Favorite domestic travel destinations include Detroit, Palm Springs, Calif. and the 444-mile Natchez Trace Parkway. I’ll never pass up a chance to go to Buenos Aires, Cape Town or Copenhagen (well, except during a pandemic).
