Chicago is an urban environment that is easily accessible to wide-open spaces, but the Windy City’s pups can be found everywhere in the city limits, from on pub patios to riding in horse-drawn carriages. While the stockyards may not be what they once were, dogs, of course, love any place that is famous for big slabs of meat. I wrote two editions of The Dog Lover’s Companion to Chicago. Part of a national series, it included new dog parks and city regulations, and how to order room service for your pups. This book is out of print, but used copies are available. Buy book
